The Oakland County Bar Association will present a webinar on “Domestic Violence Awareness: Recognizing When Your Client is a Survivor” Thursday, October 5, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. via Zoom.
More than one million people report a violent assault by a partner every year in the United States. One in three Michigan families are impacted by domestic violence according to HAVEN.
This seminar will provide insight into law enforcement's use of danger assessments to help you recognize when your client is a survivor. In addition, speaker Jennifer Smith, of Brimstone Law PLLC, will give helpful tips on determining when attorneys need an expert and who to call. The webinar will also feature a Q&A session.
Cost for the webinar is $12 for OCBA members pre-registration and $25 for non-members pre-registration. Oakland County MIDC court appointed attorneys can attend for free.
