Last Friday, Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer signed legislation to implement the state budget as the new fiscal year begins on October 1. The legislation will provide funding for Michigan State troopers, public universities, community colleges, and the 21st Century Jobs Trust Fund, among others.
“Today’s bills will help us build on our growing economic momentum and deliver on the policies in historic, bipartisan budget I signed earlier this year,” said Whitmer. “Together, we are protecting clean air, powering economic development, investing in higher education, and supporting our state troopers. Let’s keep delivering on the issues that matter most to people’s lives by ensuring state government runs effectively and efficiently. If we do, we can build a brighter future for Michigan.”
