Stare Decisis focus of ACS event at Wayne Law

The Michigan Chapter and the Wayne State University Law School Student Chapter of the American Constitution Society will present "The Michigan Supreme Court and Stare Decisis," featuring Robert A. Sedler, WSU distinguished professor of law, on Tuesday, March 2, at 6 p.m. in the Partrich Auditorium at 471 West Palmer Street in Detroit. The event is free of charge.
Sedler will discuss his study of the court's 1999-2000 jurisprudence, including several decisions overruling prior decisions of the court. Based upon his conclusion that the decisions lack legitimacy, Sedler will discuss arguments and strategies available to those litigants who may wish to ask the current Supreme Court to "overrule the overrulings" by the prior Supreme Court.
