Pulte Homes founder William J. Pulte to retire

BLOOMFIELD HILLS (AP) -- Pulte Homes, the nation's largest homebuilder, says founder William J. Pulte will retire from the company, and its board, at the end of March after 60 years in the business.
The 77-year-old's board seat won't be filled, reducing Pulte Homes Inc.'s board to 11 members.
The Bloomfield Hills, Mich. builder says Pulte was 18 years old in 1950 when he started construction on his first house.
Following his retirement, Pulte will advise senior executives and the board for two years. He will take the title of founder and chairman emeritus.
