Lawyers mentor students at Detroit's King High
DETROIT (AP) -- Attorneys from the national law firm Foley & Lardner LLP are working with 95 students at Martin Luther King High School as part of a mentoring program in the Detroit Public Schools.
The four lawyers met with the students Wednesday. It's one in a monthly series of such sessions that make up the IDEA (Improving Detroit Through Entrepreneurship Advancement) program, which began last year.
The session will be followed March 17 by one focusing on marketing.
The law firm's Web site says the program is designed to expose students to successful area businesses and entrepreneurs.
It also seeks to give students "hands-on learning experiences and opportunities to plan and present their own business ideas."
