Removing barriers to employment topic of next People's Law College

The Adams-Pratt Oakland County Law Library will host a workshop on "Removing Barriers to Employment: Driver's License Restoration and Criminal Expungement" Tuesday, March 23, from 6 to 8 p.m. at 1200 North Telegraph Road, Building 14 East, in Pontiac.
Noted Oakland County Attorneys Daniel J. Larin and Michael Komorn will educate attendees on the legal process in the state of Michigan to restore a driver's license or to expunge a criminal offense. The workshop will be of particular interest to those having difficulty securing employment, housing, or credit due to these issues. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask the attorneys questions about the necessary criteria to be eligible for either court procedure and to receive information on how to begin the process.
This workshop is the third in a series of five public lectures on legal topics that will be presented in the first half of 2010. The lecture series, titled The People's Law College, invites members of the public to attend and educate themselves to get answers on legal issues.
The People's Law College is sponsored by the Public Services Committee of the Oakland County Bar Association. The workshop is open to the public. There is a $5 registration fee. The public is encouraged to register in advance with the Oakland County Bar Association. To register, call (248) 334-3400. Beverages and light snacks will be provided.
