Ethics of 'Snooping' focus of OCBA seminar
The Oakland County Bar Association (OCBA) Professionalism Committee will host a seminar titled "Mining Metadata: The Ethical Ramifications of Snooping" on Tuesday, April 13, from 8:30 to 10 a.m. at the OCBA Center in Bloomfield Hills.
The computer applications and platforms people use generate metadata, leaving attorneys vulnerable to breach of confidentiality and malpractice. Those attending this seminar will learn about the digital DNA of their documents and the professional and ethical obligations they have to protect their clients and law firm.
Richard W. Paige of Bush, Seyferth, & Paige PLLC will be the moderator for the seminar and Thomas M. Cooley Law School Auburn Hills campus Assistant Dean Martha Moore will be the speaker.
The cost to attend is $45 for OCBA members and $60 for non-members who pre-register. OCBA members will be charged $60 at the door and non-OCBA members will be charged $80 if registering at the door.
To register, visit www.ocba.org. For additioanl information, call (248) 334-3400.
