Standard and Poors raises credit rating for Ingham County
Debbie DeLeon, Chairperson Ingham County Board of Commissioners announced that "This week, Standard & Poor's Rating Services raised the credit rating for Ingham County to AA+. This is exceptionally good news for Ingham County. A credit rating is a forward-looking opinion about credit risk and a government's ability to meet its financial obligations in full and on time. According to Standard & Poor's an AA+ rating indicates that Ingham County has a very strong capacity to meet its financial commitments.
At a time when state and local governments everywhere are facing enormous financial challenges, the Ingham County Board of Commissioners remain committed to its strategic course of fiscal prudence while continuing to provide the services that make Ingham County a great place to live, work and raise a family.
This improvement in our credit rating is recognition of the hard work and professionalism of the entire Ingham County workforce."
