'Circle of Light' - Nominate an award candidate

CARE House - the Child Abuse and Neglect Council of Oakland County, in collaboration with Department of Human Services, Oakland County Prosecutor's Office, Oakland County Family Court, Oakland County Youth Assistance Oakland Family Service, and Spaulding for Children will hold its 7th Annual "Circle of Light" award ceremony on Tuesday, April 27. The event will take place at 5:45 p.m. in the Commissioners Auditorium of the Oakland County Courthouse at 1200 N. Telegraph Road in Pontiac. CARE House is a private, non-profit agency that coordinates services to provide support, intervention and treatment for victims of child abuse, and programs and services for at-risk families to keep abuse from occurring. Circle of Light recognizes individuals who have worked to prevent and protect children from abuse and neglect. This year's program will include "The Honorable Joan E. Young Award" to the Foster Parent of the Year and three Circle of Light awards. The public is welcome to suggest candidates for these awards who have made an outstanding contribution to protecting our children. To nominate someone, the Circle of Light Award Nomination Form may be obtained through CARE House Web site at: www.carehouse.org. Circle of Light nominees may include law enforcement, child protective service workers, foster care workers both state and private agency, attorneys (Guardian ad litems, defense attorneys, prosecutors), jurists, community members and CARE House personnel, including CASA advocates. Completed nomination forms must be received by Friday, April 9, to be considered. Completed forms may be mailed to CARE House, 44765 Woodward Avenue, Pontiac 48341-1702 or faxed to (248) 333-1539.
