Program to explore 'Social Media & Its Impact on Litigation'

The Federal Bar Association, Eastern District of Michigan Chapter, along with Wayne State University Law School will present a program on "Social media and its impact on litigation: From discovery through trial," on Thursday, April 15, from 4 to 6:30 p.m. at Wayne Law's Spencer Partrich Auditorium. This panel discussion will explore current social media issues as they relate to the litigation process. U.S. District Judge Robert H. Cleland will give a practical perspective on his considerations on evidentiary issues, jury behavior and post-litigation sanctions. John Birmingham, chair of Foley's National Labor and Employment group, will discuss evidentiary rules, voir dire and the ethical implications of producing evidence. The program will also feature Stott Matthews, managing partner of Spectrum Computer Forensics and Risk Management, who will discuss evolving processes of searching for, obtaining and authenticating information found within "the cloud."
