Oakland County Diversity Conference to feature author/host Tony Brown

Best-selling author and radio/television host Tony Brown will be the keynote speaker at Oakland County Employment Diversity Council's 8th annual Workplace Diversity Conference. Brown will discuss "Workplace Diversity Through Excellence." This year's event will take place on Oakland County's Day of Diversity on Thursday, April 22, from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at The Metropolitan Hotel (formerly Troy Hilton) in Troy. The theme is "Taking Diversity & Inclusion to the Next Level - Practical and Fair Application." The conference objective is to provide attendees the opportunity to network and learn the best practices of diversity and inclusion from top companies and speakers. This event offers specific techniques and assistance for individuals within businesses of all sizes to better understand the practical and fair approaches and techniques that are utilized to apply diversity and inclusion policies to all segments of the workforce. Among the topics to be discussed include "The Role Diversity Plays in Corporate Social Responsibility" and "Creating an Inclusive Work Environment for Sexual and Gender Minorities." Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson's Deputy County Executive and Chief Information Officer Phil Bertolini will deliver opening remarks and present a "Day of Diversity in Oakland County" proclamation on behalf of the administration.
