It's green thumb time as WCBA and Trial Court schedule garden projects at Avalon Housing

The WCBA's Public Service Committee, in cooperation with the Washtenaw County Trial Court is again sponsoring "Edible Avalon" and "Gardening with Grace" community events this year.
"We will be teaming with Avalon Housing again this year to help build vegetable gardens and plant flowers for the residents," a spokesperson said.
"Judge Darlene O'Brien and Judge Timothy Connors will once again be participating. We hope you, your family and/or your office will join us in this worthwhile cause."
Saturday, May 8, at 11a.m., and Saturday, May 15 at 11a.m. to help build vegetable bed planters.
Sunday, May 23 at 2 p.m., Thursday, May 27 at 5:30 p.m., and Tuesday, June 1, at 5:30 p.m. to help plant flowers.
* Last year 25 attorneys and 2 judges volunteered;
* Flower gardens were planted at three locations;
* Approximately 1000 pounds of organic food was harvested and used by the residents;
* Helping those less fortunate is very rewarding;
* It is fun to garden with your peers.
