The Judiciary Committee of the Washtenaw County Bar Association is sponsoring the 21st Annual Bench-Bar Conference.
The event will be held on Friday, May 14, noon to 4:30 p.m. at Travis Pointe Country Club.
As always, a lunch buffet is included.
The program this year is entitled, "Achieving Access to Justice For All" and includes a State Bar update from current SBM President Charles Toy.
In addition, local judges will provide updates on their courts including Chief Judge David Swartz, Washtenaw County Trial Court; Chief Judge Julie Creal, 15th District Court; Chief Judge Kirk W. Tabbey, 14A District Court; and Chief Judge Charles J. Pope, 14B District Court.
A panel discussion with the judges will follow concerning perspectives on statewide indigent defense and helping people afford civil disputes.
Facilitated break-out groups will conclude the afternoon.
