Firm's Taxation and Succession Planning Institute plans seminar
The Butzel Long Taxation and Succession Planning Institute is planning a half-day seminar from 7:15 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, May 20, at the Troy Marriott at 200 West Big Beaver in Troy.
The seminar is designed for Certified Public Accountants (CPA) and financial planners. The attendance fee is $95 per person and includes a continental breakfast, lunch and seminar materials. Michigan Certified Public Accountants (CPA) are eligible to receive five Continuing Education Credits (CPE) for participating in the seminar. Financial planners are eligible for five Certified Financial Planner (CFP) credits. There is eligibility for two continuing education (CE) credits in Life/Health as well.
Seminar topics include: Estate Tax and Planning Opportunities for 2010 and Beyond; New Tax Laws and Other Hot Topics; LLC Operating Agreement Tax Provisions; Family Limited Entity Transfers: Cutting Edge or Jagged Edge?; Compliance Requirements of Foreign Activities and Bank Accounts; Information Security and Record Retention; Changes to the Estates and Protected Individuals Code; The Michigan Trust Code; and Cross Testing With 401(K) Plans.
The seminar will feature Butzel Long attorneys John J. Raymond Jr., Alexander B. Bragdon, Sean H. Cook, W. Patrick Dreisig, Amy L. Glenn, Zvi Hahn, Terry O. Lang, Jeffrey D. Moss, Suzanne M. Miller, Robert M. Nemzin, Robert P. Perry, Carol A. Romej, Richard A. Shapack and David W. Sommerfeld.
The luncheon keynote speaker is Cami M. Pendell, manager of State Government Affairs for BL Government Affairs. Her presentation is titled, "Outlook on Upcoming Elections and Legislative Updates from Lansing."
