JAMA, career academy seeking help, supplies for summer camp activities

Jackson Area Manufacturers Association and the Academy for Manufacturing Careers are hosting another round of summer camp activities.
They are looking to local business to help sponsor the activities. Attached is a list of materials they are hoping will be donated to assist this year's summer camp experience.
I Can Make It! Camp
1)Volunteers to help with evening activities from 6 p.m. - 9 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evening;
2) Items needed: 80 Empty paper towel tubes, 20 shoe boxes, (80) cereal boxes and 80 2 liter plastic Pop bottles;
3) Several area manufacturers are displaying their manufacturing techniques Tuesday night during Manufacturing Night. If you would like to set-up a booth, bring material, solicit volunteers to feature your company, they welcome your participation.
Gateway Academy
1) 50 2 liter plastic pop bottles;
2) 10 old tennis balls.
Machining U
This year at Machining U the students will be precision machining a golf putter and a cup and welding a bird bath and a butterfly stake.
Precision Machining Project: Golf Putter and Cup:
12 feet of 3/8" x 4" Aluminum bar for putter face;
8 feet of 3/4" x 4" Aluminum for putting cup;
Tooling: high helix 2 flute end mills for aluminum.
They need to purchase some golf components such as putter shafts and grips. "If someone would like to donate funds to cover the cost of this material the total amount would be $175," a spokesperson said.
The Career Center is donating the balance of the material required to complete this project.
Welding Project: Bird Bath:
3 each 1-1/2" sch 40 x 21 ft black pipe;
6 each 1/8" x ²" x 20 ft HR flat strip;
9 each #2 concrete reinforcing bar;
"We will need to purchase (44) 18" diameter farm implement discs which we can order from Tractor Supply Company. If someone would like to donate funds to cover the cost of this material the total amount would be $800."
Welding Project: butterfly stake:
5 each #4 concrete reinforcing bar;
2 each #2 Concrete Reinforcing Bar
"We will need to purchase (88) horse shoes #1 plain which we can order from Tractor Supply Company. If someone would like to donate funds to cover the cost of this material the total amount would be $210."
Welding Project: other lawn art
22 each used shovel blades;
50 each USS plain steel flat washers;
5 each t #4 concrete reinforcing bar.
Manufacturing Tours:
"We are looking for three companies to tour during Machining U. We would like to give the students a real view of manufacturing. We need three companies to allow us to come into their facility with 20 students and six adults. We also hope that one of the companies provide lunch that day."
To date the following companies/individuals have donated to the 2010 Summer Camps:
Eaton Corporation; Jackson County ISD, Jackson Area Center; Jackson Monument; Meijers; Polly's; Accubilt Inc.; Consumers Energy; Miller Tool; Toy House; Kay Cagle, Academy Instructor; Chad Noble, Allegiance Health; Classic Turning; MACI; Spring Arbor University; South Central Michigan Works!.
"Anyone is welcome to attend our closing presentations for any of our camps. Please come and see what your future employees are capable of accomplishing."
