Bankruptcy process focus of final People's Law College, May 25

The Adams-Pratt Oakland County Law Library will host "The Bankruptcy Process: What Does a Consumer Need to Know?" workshop on Tuesday, May 25, from 6 to 8 p.m. The workshop will give attendees the opportunity to learn about the bankruptcy process and how one files a case in the court system. The workshop will also focus on recent changes in the law and how they impact the individual consumer. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask a noted bankruptcy attorney questions about the different types of bankruptcy, the impact of filing, and what alternative options may exist. This workshop is the final in a series of five public lectures on legal topics that will be presented in the first half of 2010. The lecture series is titled The People's Law College. Members of the public are invited to get answers on legal issues. The People's Law College is sponsored by the Public Services Committee of the Oakland County Bar Association. The workshop is open to the public. There is a $5 registration fee. The public is encouraged to register in advance with the Oakland County Bar Association. To register, call (248) 334-3400. The Adams-Pratt Oakland County Law Library is located at 1200 North Telegraph Road in Building 14 East, which is on the second floor of the West Wing Extension, which is located in the five-story glass building attached to the main courthouse building.
