Michigan Supreme Court Chief Justice to serve as Cooley Law School Commencement Speaker

LANSING, MI--Michigan Supreme Court Chief Justice Marilyn Kelly will provide the commencement address to graduates at Cooley Law School's graduation ceremony on Saturday, May 22 at 3 p.m. at the Michigan State University's Breslin Center in East Lansing, Mich. "Chief Justice Kelly is an outstanding leader in the law," said Don LeDuc, president and dean of Cooley Law School. "Her years of experience on the bench and in private practice are sure to result in words of wisdom that are thought-provoking and inspiring for our graduates." Kelly was elected to the Michigan Supreme Court for an eight-year term in 1996 and re-elected in 2004 for an eight-year term that expires on January 1, 2013. Prior to her election to the Michigan Supreme Court, Kelly was elected to the Michigan Court of Appeals for a six-year term in 1988 and was re-elected in 1994.
