Local attorney receives alumni award at recent commencement
At the recent Jackson Community College commencement, Jackson attorney Lawrence Bullen received the college's Dr. Ethelene Jones Crockett Distinguished Alumni Award.
A native of Jackson, Bullen graduated from Jackson High School in 1947 and then from the then-named Jackson Junior College, in 1949.
He then earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan in 1951, and a law degree in 1954 from the U of M's Law School.
Bullen is of counsel with Marcoux, Allen, Schomer, Bower, Nichols, Kendall and Lindsey P.C.
He taught business law courses at Jackson Junior College from 1956 through 1960 and was an active participant in the committees that resulted in the formation of what is now JCC.
He is a director emeritus and served as a director and treasurer of the JCC Foundation, and has assisted with innumerable JCC fundraising and educational projects.
He was the recipient of the college's Distinguished Service Award at the 1998 commencement ceremonies.
