'Federal Practice 2010' program offered June 24
The Federal Bar Association - Eastern District of Michigan Chapter (FBA) will host "Federal Practice 2010" on Thursday, June 24, at 1 p.m. at the Westin Book Cadillac Hotel in Detroit.
Recent dramatic developments are changing many areas of federal court practice and the removal of state court cases to federal court. New cases and court rules affect federal court jurisdiction, pleading, discovery and pretrial motion practice. Whether one practices regularly or only occasionally in federal court, and whether their practice is limited to pretrial work or involves actual trials, this program is highly encouraged.
Presenters will include U.S. District Court Chief Judge Gerald E. Rosen, Eastern District of Michigan, moderator; U.S. District Court Judge David M. Lawson, Eastern District of Michigan; and Thomas W. Cranmer of Miller, Canfield, Paddock, and Stone PLC.
The program begins with registration at 1 p.m. followed by the program from 1:30 to 4:45 p.m.
The cost to attend is $130 for FBA members and $160 for non-FBA members.
After the program, attendees can stick around for the FBA's 31st Annual Dinner honoring the judges of the Eastern District of Michigan also at the Westin Book Cadillac beginning at 5:30 p.m. Separate registration is required for this event.
Registration and programming will be handled by The Rutter Group. For additional information or to register, call (818) 990-3260 (ext. 2) or 1-800-747-3161 (ext. 2) or visit http://www.theruttergroup.com/trge/index.cfm?page=&groupID=1003&task=groupit.
