Nichols promoted to Assistant Clinical Professor

Elan Stavros Nichols has been promoted to Assistant Clinical Professor of Law at the MSU College of Law Rental Housing Clinic, from her position as Supervising Staff Attorney and Clinical Instructor. Previously, Professor Nichols practiced as an appeals and litigation associate for property rights advocacy groups and individuals in a real estate law firm.
Following graduation from MSU College of Law with honors in 2000, Professor Nichols clerked for Michigan Court of Appeals Judge Peter D. O'Connell and then Michigan Supreme Court Chief Justice Clifford W. Taylor. Nichols will chair a session and is serving as an Academic Organizing Committee member for the Athens Institute for Education Research Law Research Unit's 7th Annual International Conference on Law in July, in Athens, Greece. She has been published in the Thomas M. Cooley Law Review, the Real Property Review of the State Bar of Michigan, and various other local and state legal and real estate trade publications. Nichols also has served as a presenter and facilitator for legal and educational seminars and conferences, and has been interviewed by local media on housing law issues.
