New immigration rules focus of Breakfast Brief

Mexico's immigration rules have changed dramatically in the past couple of months. These new rules impact employers who send their employees to Mexico on business. Butzel Long is hosting a free Breakfast Briefing program from 8 to 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 28, at its Bloomfield Hills office located at Stoneridge West, 41000 Woodward Ave.
Featured speakers will include:
--Marie Galindo, International Practice advisor, Butzel Long. Galindo is the only licensed-in-Mexico attorney in Michigan certified by the State Bar to advise on Mexican law.
--Clara DeMatteis Mager, Practice Group manager, Immigration Group, Butzel Long. Mager focuses her practice on business and family immigration issues including all aspects of the international movement of personnel, inbound and outbound work-authorized nonimmigrant (temporary) and immigrant (permanent) status, immigration consequences of mergers, acquisitions and corporate restructuring, employer sanctions, and immigration law audits (e.g. labor condition applications and I-9).
--Maria Amparo Escalante of the Immigration Practice of Butzel Long's Alliance firm in Mexico City.
--Vicente Sánchez Ventura, Consul of Mexico in Detroit, will participate in the program as well.
The speakers will discuss these new immigration rules along with the subsequent labor and tax implications that employers may not know about.
Seating is limited and reservations are required. Register online at www.butzel.com.
