News (AP) - Pontiac to get new $1.4M rail, intercity bus hub
PONTIAC (AP) -- Pontiac is getting a new $1.4 million hub for passenger rail and intercity bus passengers.
The Pontiac Transportation Center is expected to be completed next summer. It will serve as a hub for mass transit, including Amtrak's Wolverine service to Chicago.
The state Department of Transportation, Amtrak and bus company Greyhound Lines Inc. all are part of the project.
The new center is being built with state funds. The previous transportation center was demolished in 2008.
