Board of Commissioners cablecasts available to residents

The July 7th meeting of the Oakland County Board of Commissioners was the second of four meetings to be cablecast county-wide through a partnership of local communities. The Southwest Oakland Cable Commission, the Greater West Bloomfield Cable Communications Commission, the Birmingham Area Cable Board, and the Orion Community Cable Communications Commission are providing coverage of one meeting in 2010 and distributing the recording to local cable access channels throughout the county.
At the July 7th Board Meeting Oakland County's Budget was presented to the full board by County Executive L. Brooks Patterson and the Oakland County Management and Budget Division. Area Olympians, Meryl Davis and Charlie White were honored. These two Silver Medalists participated in the 2010 Vancouver Olympics Ice Dance Competition and are the 2009 and 2010 National U.S. Ice Dance Champions.
The July 22 and the August 19 meetings will also be covered.
"This is a great opportunity for Oakland County residents to see their County Commission in action and become more familiar with county issues" said Board Chairman Bill Bullard.
These communities have traditionally cablecast city council and township board meetings," said David Albery, executive director of the Greater West Bloomfield Commission. "They are happy to donate the production and distribution costs for County Commission meetings."
Residents will be able to view the meeting on their local public access or governmental access channel. They should check their local channel for scheduling information. The meeting will also be available as a video archive at the SWOCC web site (swoccstudios.pegcentral.com) and the GWBCCC web site (civiccentertv.com).
Listed below are the cable commission and boards that will provide coverage to the following communities:
* Southwest Oakland Cable Commission which provides services to the communities of Farmington, Farmington Hills, and Novi.
* Greater West Bloomfield Cable Communications Commission which provides services to the communities of Keego Harbor, Orchard Lake, Sylvan Lake, and West Bloomfield.
* Township Birmingham Area Cable Board which provides services to Birmingham, Beverly Hills, Bingham Farms, Franklin.
* Orion Community Cable Communications Commission which provides services to communities of Lake Orion and Orion Township.
