News (AP) - Detroit police seize $2.3M in suspected drug money

DETROIT (AP) -- About $2.3 million has been seized by Detroit police as part of a narcotics conspiracy investigation.
Interim Police Chief Ralph Godbee says in a release that it is the department's largest cash seizure this year.
Officers stopped a car on the city's east side Monday. A police dog made a positive hit for cocaine on the cash. The car's driver was arrested.
It's the first major drug or cash seizure since Warren Evans was forced to resign last week as police chief.
Evans stepped up pressure on mid- and upper-level drug dealers during his yearlong tenure as chief.
