Tech Roadshow presented by ABA and MAJ
The Michigan Association for Justice will present the "ABA Tech Roadshow" Friday, Oct. 1, beginning at 9 a.m. at The Henry-An Autograph Collection Hotel (Formerly the Ritz-Carlton) in Dearborn.
Attendees can learn technology tips to use at trial and enjoy popular sessions such as "45 Websites in 45 minutes" and "30 technology and management tips in 30 minutes."
The seminar will offer two tracks. There will be two seminar rooms with two simultaneous speakers on two separate topics. Multiple attendees from the same firm receive a discount. Anyone can attend. Members of the defense bar, office mangers, secretaries and firm IT staff are welcome.
Presentations to include: Going paperless--digital dictation; PDFing for lawyers--Speech recognition software; Failsafe backups; Popular software tips/tricks-E-faxing, Skype; Dual monitors; Disaster planning--In case of emergency; Video conferencing; Latest courtroom tech tools; Social networks--Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, etc; Seven tech must haves for superlative client service; Office management--Needles, Time Matters, World Dox and more; Mobile office and remote access; and more.
In the spirit of the "paperless office" there will be no paper material provided. Attendees are encouraged to bring a laptop. Material will be provided on thumb drives. Wireless Internet is available.
Cost is $195 for MAJ members; $150 each additional MAJ member or support staff from the same firm; $135 for five or more MAJ members or support staff; $60 for sustaining MAJ members; and $225 for non-MAJ members.
