Training program for volunteer mediators is scheduled by CAA
Southeastern Dispute Resolution Services, a Community Action Agency (CAA) program, is sponsoring volunteer mediator training.
The training will be held on Aug. 26-28 and Sept. 9-1, noon to 6 p.m. during the week, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays at Herrick Hospital, 500 East Pottawatamie Street, in Tecumseh.
Residents in Hillsdale, Jackson, Lenawee, and Monroe counties are invited to call 517-784-4800, extension 276 or 223 or 517-788-2524 for more information.
Applicants must commit to attending each training session and completing 10 hours of observation.
Those who decide to volunteer for SDRS must commit to completing 25 hours of co-mediation; signing a confidentiality and a non-competition statement; and following the ethical and business standards of the State Court Administrative Office and Community Action Agency.
