On August 27th, the 6th Judicial Circuit Court, Oakland County, received a Complaint of Expedited Investigation by Judicial Officer (One Person Grand Jury) by complainant L. Brooks Patterson in regard to alleged violations of Michigan election laws.
Yesterday Chief Judge Nanci Grant announced that the Circuit Court, by affirmative majority decision of the bench, authorized issuance of an order to convene a one person grand jury for the purpose of conducting a judicial investigation as to the allegations contained in the complaint.
Furthermore, the judges of the Circuit Court, by unanimous vote, designated Judge Edward Sosnick to act as grand juror. Grant commented, "As dean of the bench, we have complete confidence in Judge Sosnick's ability to impartially and fairly fulfill this important role."
All further proceedings regarding this investigation will be conducted in compliance with MCLA 767.3 et seq.
