On Monday, Sept. 20, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., the Tri-County Summit will be held at the Detroit Zoo, in the Ford Education Center, located at 8450 West 10 Mile Road in Royal Oak.
This regional event will bring elected leaders from the City of Detroit and the counties of Macomb, Wayne, and Oakland together to share insight on regional issues.
This year, marks the 10th time that Tri-County Legislative Leaders will have gathered. The Oakland County Board of Commissioners have the distinction of hosting this milestone event at one of the Detroit Zoo.
Summit topics include an update on the Detroit Zoo, along with the following presentations of an overview of Equalization: Tax Base Revenue, Property Valuation, Glimpse into the Future, and the "Silver Tsunami." The "Silver Tsunami" presentation will focus on the economic opportunities associated with and needs of the new growth wave of the older adult population in the region.
COMCAST is lead sponsor for this year's event.
