LANSING (AP) -- Michigan environmental regulators have settled a lawsuit with two land development companies in a Washtenaw County wetlands case.
The Department of Natural Resources and Environment said Monday it had reached a deal with George H. Pastor & Sons Inc. and GHP II LLC, both of Livonia. The state sued the companies in 2007, accusing them of violating water quality and wetland protection laws.
The department says Pastor & Sons agreed to pay $35,000 and finish building a 6.2-acre wetland in Salem Township as required under a construction permit.
John Pastor is an ex-Republican state representative. He's president of Pastor & Sons and a member of the LLC. He said Monday his company has completed the wetland and has done nothing wrong.
