Final suspects in couple's 2008 slayings sentenced

DETROIT (AP) -- Two Houston men accused of hiring hit men to kill a Troy couple over a financial dispute have been sentenced in federal court.
The U.S. attorney's office in Detroit says that 63-year-old Narayan Thadani was sentenced Wednesday to life in prison and 42-year-old Douglas Tobar was given 30 years in the deaths of Brij and Aasha Chhabra.
Thadani pleaded guilty in June. Tobar cooperated with authorities and pleaded guilty in July.
The Chhabras were found shot to death in March 2008 in their Troy home.
Police were led to the house after officers in Taylor found a diagram and address of the home and a copy of a passport photo during a traffic stop.
Miguel Servando and Nelson Mendoza were in the car. They are serving life sentences.
