Silverdome owners seek $750K in unpaid rent

PONTIAC (AP) -- Owners of the former home of the Detroit Lions have filed a lawsuit claiming promoters of a failed Indian music concert owe $750,000 in rent.

Triple Properties Inc. of Toronto claims in an Oakland County Circuit Court lawsuit that Palace Entertainment Group and three other companies reneged on contract terms after a stage collapse at the Pontiac Silverdome forced a concert by the composer of "Slumdog Millionaire" to be canceled last June. The suit claims debris was left inside the stadium from June 20 to July 30.

Elizabeth Thomson, an attorney for Palace Entertainment Group, told The Detroit News the lawsuit is a "farce."

Triple Properties Inc. purchased the 80,300-seat facility last year for $583,000.
