Agencies pleased with success of home give-away

CP Federal Credit Union hosted a celebration to announce the winner of the "Wish Upon A Home" give away earlier in the fall.
Tina Greer and her five children were granted their wish by receiving the keys to a new home.
The 1,780 square foot home is located in the city of Jackson, has 4 bedrooms, hardwood floors, landscaping, patio and a fenced in yard. The home offers convenient access to schools, churches and city bus services.
The home was awarded under a Forgivable Mortgage agreement which will require the resident to live in the home for five years and after that own the home free and clear.
The recipient will be responsible for all applicable property taxes, insurances, utilities, maintenance and normal living expenses.
A panel of volunteers from area community agencies and non-profits such as United Way, Jackson Affordable Housing, Habitat for Humanity, the Interfaith Shelter, the City Of Jackson among others have been working together to choose the winner of the home.
"This has really been a great project and we are so thankful for all of the businesses and community members who have donated their time, materials and resources make to this happen, we couldn't have done this without them!" John Crist, President/CEO of CP Federal Credit Union stated.
