DETROIT (AP) -- Not-guilty pleas have been entered for a former judge, ex-prosecutor and two Detroit-area police officers accused of perjury-related charges during a 2005 drug trial.
The case was assigned Wednesday to Wayne County Circuit Judge Timothy Kenny. Ironically, former Judge Mary Waterstone once said she wished she would have consulted with Kenny before making decisions that led to criminal charges against her.
In 2008, she referred to Kenny as a "godfather."
Waterstone is accused of allowing perjured testimony at a major cocaine trial five years ago. She says she was protecting the safety of a paid police informant.
Waterstone, former prosecutor Karen Plants and two Inkster officers were arraigned Wednesday, two weeks after they were ordered to stand trial.
