Authorities arrest fugitive Mich. couple in Tenn.

DETROIT (AP) -- Authorities say they have arrested a fugitive Michigan couple accused of stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars from dozens of people through a real estate scheme.

The Michigan attorney general's office said in a release that local, state and federal law enforcement officers apprehended Richard and Rita Gosselin Friday in Humboldt, Tenn. The 62-year-old man and 58-year-old woman will be held in the Gibson County jail while efforts are made to extradite them.

A message was left last Friday evening for Detroit area lawyer Blaise Repasky, the last attorney on record.

The Gosselins were charged April 8 with rackateering and obtaining money under false pretenses. The day before, authorities say, they fled the state after Rita Gosselin cut a court-ordered tether device.
