WATERFORD TOWNSHIP (AP) -- Waterford Township police say they have destroyed $8 million worth of street drugs during controlled burns.
The drugs included marijuana, heroin, cocaine and prescription drugs that were seized during the past two years.
Chief Daniel McCaw tells The Oakland Press of Pontiac the drugs were destroyed at an undisclosed southeast Michigan incinerator that reached upward of 2,000 degrees.
The first batch took three full days to burn beginning in late September. The second load was destroyed Oct. 1.
