DETROIT (AP) -- Four people in the Detroit area have been arrested as part of a larger probe into a health care fraud scheme to fleece Medicare of more than $14 million.
Authorities say the suspects were taken into custody Tuesday by federal agents. They're accused of participating in the Medicare scheme out of two Oakland County home health agencies.
The four are among 21 people who've been charged since January, and 10 of them have pleaded guilty.
Authorities accuse the agencies of providing home health therapy services to Medicare beneficiaries that were unnecessary or never performed.
The charge of health care fraud conspiracy carries a penalty of up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
