Viewers will be able to see Snyder sworn in

LANSING (AP) -- Residents who can't make it to the Capitol on Jan. 1 to watch Michigan's new governor and other officials be sworn in will be able to watch from home as the inauguration ceremony takes place.

The swearing-in will begin at noon, followed by remarks from new Gov. Rick Snyder.

Taped interviews with the incoming officeholders will be shown before the inaugural activities. Craig Ruff of Public Sector Consultants and Detroit Free Press columnist Rochelle Riley will provide commentary from the Capitol lawn.

The Michigan Cable Telecommunications Association is sponsoring the 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. broadcast by Michigan Government Television. The association has created a Michigan Inaugural page on Facebook with additional information.
