MARQUETTE, Mich. (AP) -- Michelle Obama has honored two Michigan public libraries at a White House ceremony.
The first lady presented the 2010 National Medal for Museum and Library Service to five libraries and five museums from across the nation last Friday.
Peter White Public Library in Marquette, Mich., and West Bloomfield Township Public Library were among the recipients.
Winners were chosen based on their innovative approaches to public service and improving communities.
