Wayne Law students active participants at NAPABA Convention

Wayne State University Law School students Eleanor Ung and Chelsea Zuzindlak recently attended the 22nd annual National Asian Pacific American Bar Association (NAPABA) Convention in Los Angeles. At the conference, Ung, who serves as president of Wayne Law's Asian Pacific American Law Students Association (APALSA), was inducted as secretary of the national APALSA. Additionally, Zuzindlak, who serves as vice president of Wayne Law's APALSA, co-authored the Judges' Bench Memorandum used to judge the NAPABA's Thomas Tang International Moot Court Competition. In Ung's new role as national secretary, she will be responsible for helping coordinate APALSA's national conference next fall in Atlanta. She will also be responsible for meeting agendas, minutes and video conferences, and will aim to help increase representation of Asian American law students in the legal field. Ricardo Villarosa, Wayne Law director of Student Life and Educational Outreach, accompanied Ung and Zuzindlak to the convention. "I was able to connect with judges, lawyers, and law students across the nation -- something I couldn't have done without the convention," Ung said. "I gained profound insights from leading attorneys in their fields, ranging from large to small firms, as well as nonprofit groups.
