Small Business Agenda for 2011 released by NFIB/Michigan
The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), Michigan's leading small business association, recently released its Small Business Agenda for 2011.
According to state Director Charlie Owens, the theme this year is "Putting Michigan back to work." The agenda calls for tax and fiscal reforms as well as regulatory relief that will encourage small business growth.
"There isn't a problem in this state that cannot be solved with good paying job opportunities for Michigan citizens," said Owens. "Data from the Small Business Administration (SBA) consistently show that small business is the economic shock absorber that mitigates the impact of economic recession.
"Small businesses can create and retain jobs even when many larger businesses are laying off workers," continued Owens. "We need fiscal, regulatory and economic policies at the state that will reward small-business investment and promote small-business growth."
