Two Brinks Hofer shareholders were presenters at seminars in China

L.G. Almeda and Eric Sosenko, shareholders in the Ann Arbor office of Brinks Hofer Gilson and Lione were presenters at the Two-City Intellectual Property Seminar hosted by Brinks Hofer and the CCPIT Patent and Trademark Law Office in China. CCPIT is China's largest IP law firm. Almeda's topic was the value of right to use opinions and Sosenko discussed patent enforcement. The seminars were held in Guangzhou, China on November 15 and Foshan, China on November 17. Sosenko focuses on the procurement, enforcement and licensing of patents and trademarks in all industrial fields, including the mechanical, electro-mechanical, medical and material arts. He counsels on the strategic implementation and management of domestic and international intellectual property portfolios for various multinational clients and deals with a wide range of general and specific intellectual property issues. In addition to his U.S. practice, Sosenko has an extensive international practice with significant experience in international protection, both directly with all major foreign intellectual property offices and under various multinational treaties, including the Patent Cooperation Treaty, the Hague Agreement and the Madrid Protocol. Almeda chairs Brinks' Nanotechnology Group. He focuses on patent opinions and prosecution in the medical, chemical, nanotechnology and mechanical arts and his practice has an emphasis on medical devices, nanomaterials, micro and nanodevices, petroleum and chemical processes, polymers, fuel cells, hybrid engines and polycarbonate glazing systems.
