WCBA, Cooley again gearing up to help soldiers

Editor's Note: The following was recently distributed by the Washtenaw County Bar Association.
If you've ever wondered what you can do to help support our troops serving overseas, here is a great way to help.
The Public Service Committee of the Washtenaw County Bar Association And Thomas M. Cooley Law School are pleased to be participating in "Operation Iraq-AfghanistanPAC," collecting clothing, personal care items, food and other goods requested by the troops.
Operation Iraq-AfghanistanPac is a tri-annual collection drive that collects items requested by the troops, packages them, and ships them to bases in Iraq and Afghanistan.
All items collected go to soldiers serving on or near the front lines in Iraq or Afghanistan, or serving in units that directly support front-line servicemembers.
As you can see from the list below, the things being requested are not extravagant or luxurious. They are items of everyday necessity that, for whatever reason, are in short supply.
If you want to help, there are several ways you can do so.
First, you can select items from the list below and simply drop them off at any of the drop off points (listed below) where donations will be accepted.
Second, if you wish to shop online and have your items shipped, you can have them shipped to this address:
Thomas M. Cooley Law School
c/o Professor Dan Ray
3475 Plymouth Rd.
Ann Arbor, MI 48105
(734) 372-4900
Please note that if you want to shop online for sunscreen or protective lip balm, you can do that by clicking on the following link to provide the soldiers with sun care products that will protect them in the blazing desert sun and help to cool sun burns.
SPF 30 Sunscreen: $8 including tax; SPF 15 Lip Protector: $5 including tax; Sunburn Gel: $7 including tax: http://www.marykay.com/lbuiteweg/spabody/suncarecollection/default.aspx
These are below-cost prices being offered exclusively for Operation Iraq-AfghanistanPac. You can pay by credit card by going through the standard checkout process on the Website.
Insert the prices you see here, not on the Website. The products you buy will be taken to a drop-off site for you.
Order as many as you like by February 25, 2011 to insure on-time delivery.
Third, if you prefer to donate cash instead of goods, members of the Washtenaw County Bar Association Public Service Committee will use cash donations to buy items the soldiers have requested.
Donations by check are strongly preferred; checks can be made payable to "Washtenaw County Bar Association" and mailed or delivered to the Bar Association's office.
