Snap Judgment photo event taking place in Royal Oak
The Royal Oak Retailers Association is proud to present the Snap Judgment Photography Event on Feb. 24-27. Throughout downtown Royal Oak, retail stores, restaurants and businesses will be displaying photography by local Detroit and national photographers. Each Royal Oak business will feature a different photographer of their choosing. All images will be from different photographer's unique style, representing their personal world as each photographer sees it or a statement each photographer makes or conveys through their images. Each business will showcase a different photographer with their own perspective of their selected images.
The photo exhibit will run from Friday, Feb. 25, through Sunday, Feb. 27, at 6 p.m.
On the night of the VIP Preview, Thursday, Feb. 24, patrons are asked to meet at 5th Avenue beginning at 6 p.m. to enjoy a drink and appetizers while admiring the photographs. After viewing the group display at 5th Avenue, attendees are encouraged to view more of the photographs work at local downtown businesses. Many businesses will be offering discounts and goodies to attendees on the night of the event.
VIP attendees are encouraged to explore the downtown area, shop, eat and check out the extensive photo showings at each Royal Oak business. As an encouragement to explore the many offerings of Royal Oak, each participating business will give out a casino playing card complements of Soaring Eagle Casinos. A winning poker hand will be turned in at the end of the night at 5th Avenue. Prizes will be donated by Royal Oak stores, restaurants, and businesses.
Tickets for the VIP Preview are on sale at participating businesses for $15. Proceeds will benefit the Royal Oak Animal Shelter.
The Snap Judgment Photo Event is free and open to the public on Feb. 25-27. A second poker run take place on Saturday, Feb. 26, at the Royal Oak business featuring photographs and the winning hand will also receive prizes from local Royal Oak businesses.
