Four charged in Christmas vandalism reach plea deals
SAGINAW (AP) -- Four of the five suspects in the Christmas Day vandalism spree at a popular Christmas-themed store in mid-Michigan have agreed to plea deals, and the fifth is working on a plea agreement.
The Saginaw News reports 19-year-old Ryan Buckler, 21-year-old Branden Dean, 17-year-old Caleb Quintanilla and 20-year-old Samuel Quintanilla on Tuesday waived their right to a preliminary hearing in district court. It's with the understanding they'll plead guilty to lesser charges in Circuit Court. They're expected to avoid jail time and have their criminal records sealed.
Twenty-one-year-old Nickolas Bright also waived the hearing but didn't have a plea agreement.
The five were charged with malicious destruction of property and conspiracy in connection with thousands of dollars in damage to 75 displays outside Bronner's Christmas Wonderland in Frankenmuth.
