Several road projects slated for metro Detroit

DETROIT (AP) -- Michigan Department of Transportation officials have a busy construction season planned throughout metro Detroit.
Barrels already are up at two bridges over the Southfield Freeway (M-39). Both are set for demolition this weekend.
Spokesman Rob Morosi tells The Detroit News it's part of an $80 million project aimed at repairing 24 bridges over M-39 and reconstructing three miles of the freeway.
In Novi, Novi Road between Ten Mile and Grand River will be expanded from two lanes to five as workers prepare for a $25 million project set to begin in April and end in November. A bridge also will be built over the railroad crossing.
Macomb County projects include widening portions of Van Dyke and 26 Mile roads.
Several repair and resurfacing projects are planned in Wayne County.
