Man faces trial in cable TV disconnection shooting
WARREN (AP) -- A Michigan man faces a June trial for allegedly firing a gunshot near a cable television worker who was disconnecting his cable service due to an unpaid bill.
Twenty-seven-year-old Guy Tellis of Warren is charged with assault with a dangerous weapon. He's free on bond pending his June 7 trial in Macomb County Circuit Court in Mount Clemens.
The Macomb Daily reports that prosecutors say a 25-year-old worker for Wide Open West was on a utility pole outside Tellis' home Nov. 26 when Tellis ran outside, yelled at him and then retrieved a handgun.
As the worker scurried down the pole, police say he heard a gunshot and then ran away.
At the time of the shooting, Tellis' girlfriend and four children were at the home.
