Just Baked cupcake chain plans national expansion

ROYAL OAK (AP) -- The Michigan-based specialty cupcake company Just Baked says it plans to open retail outlets nationwide and become a supplier to about 10,000 grocery stores in the next two years, using new investment funds from Garden Fresh Gourmet management.
Just Baked co-founder Pam Turkin made the announcement Tuesday. She didn't disclose financial terms.
Just Baked says the management team from Garden Fresh will help fund and provide retail expertise for the national franchise expansion of Just Baked Cupcakes stores across the country.
Pam and husband Todd Turkin started Just Baked in 2009 with a bakery in Livonia. It now also has stores in Royal Oak, Canton, Ann Arbor, and Novi. Todd Turkin says it will have about 50 franchises by the end of 2012 and 200 by 2014.
