New Women's Advisory Commission hosts orientation meeting
On Thursday, March 31, there will be an orientation meeting for the newly appointed members of the 2011-2012 Women's Advisory Commission. The meeting will begin at 5 p.m. and will be held in the Oakland County Board of Commissioners Auditorium, located at 1200 North Telegraph Road in Pontiac, Michigan.
Refreshments will be provided at the meeting. Residents interested in becoming involved with the Women's Advisory Commission, should contact their County Commissioner to see if there is a vacancy in their district. If the position is filled, volunteers are encouraged to participate and become involved in all projects.
To apply, go to the www.oakgov/boc homepage and click on the Women's Advisory Commission link. The Women's Advisory Commission will present its year-end findings in a report to the Oakland County Board of Commissioners.
For more information, contact Oakland County Commissioner and Women's Advisory Commission for Oakland County Ex-Officio Representative Marcia Gershenson at (248) 808-1032.
