Holocaust Memorial Center hosts Armenian genocide art exhibit

FARMINGTON HILLS (AP) -- The Holocaust Memorial Center in Oakland County will host an art exhibit focusing on the Armenian genocide.
"Barsamian: 20 years-Searching for the Answer" is now open at the memorial center's Zekelman Family Campus in Farmington Hills.
The exhibit by Dallas-based artist Robert Barsamian explores the massacre of 1.5 million Armenians beginning in 1915 by Turkish soldiers. It will be on display through July 10.
Turkey denies the killings constitute a genocide.
Holocaust Memorial Center officials say in a release that the exhibit was inspired by the childhood memories of Barsamian's grandmother.
Executive director Stephen Goldman says "there are lessons for humanity in all mass atrocities."
