Fundraiser for lawyers and judges program set for April 28

Brighton Hospital and the State Bar of Michigan's Lawyers and Judges Assistance Program will present an "Evening of Enlightenment: Supporting Wellness in the Legal Profession" from 6-9 p.m. on Thursday, April 28 at Suburban Collection Showplace (formerly Rock Financial Showplace), located at 46100 Grand River Ave., Novi.
The Evening of Enlightenment is a banquet that will raise funds to benefit the Richard L. Steinberg Memorial Treatment Fund, which was created to assist lawyers who are in need of mental health and/or substance use treatment, but do not have available resources to pay for it.
Timothy D. Batdorf, an attorney and author of "The Lawyer's Guide to Being Human," and Martha D. Burkett, a Licensed Professional Counselor, and administrator of the State Bar of Michigan Lawyers and Judges Assistance Program, will serve as keynote speakers.
